New Channel Layout Q&A

So its going to be all white? Can you show me a channel that already has it enabled

My question: Is there a workaround to make YouTube show the persons banner without having to disable AdBlock?

I don't need a moral story about why I shouldn't use an Adblock either. ;)

Not at the moment, but they are working with Adblock to get that fixed. Personally, I thought it was a genius (evil genius) move and I told them that personally this morning. Their response was that it was unintentional.

Edit: Seems as if they've already updated this and starting to show them now. Nevermind. Adblock on!
I bet this is the one of the main things they worked on to force people into turning it off.

From what I was told, when they were defining parts of the new layout, the new banner was not labeled as a banner, but as art, which adsense mistakenly identifies as an ad. By the time the new layout is out of beta, adblock will not affect the banner in any way.

...And they didn't decide to keep it? lol Thanks for taking the time to explain all of this. :)

Okay here's the pros and cons I see to this:
PROS
easier to make a background
Everyone has a banner!!
Clean layout
Trailer video
popular videos section!

Cons
Makes networks less appealing
Too plain
trailer is too small
Less individuality
Box for box is less noticed
You have to scroll down for playlists

There's not much to it, the div wrapping the banner only needs to include "ad" in its id for it to be blocked :D I dont think anyone should be bothered who monetises their videos, people are more likely to disable adblock on the whole site just to view them banners and would be viewing everyone's advertisements. I think theirs is currently blocked due to the word banner, even storing images in a directory named "banners" gets them blocked by adblock.

I still think there should be some special visual features for those who worked hard to build up their channels and became partners. Unfortunately, YouTube/Google doesn't think so. :)
