I'm quite brain drained at the moment after reading a few long threads overnight that have been a great source of info'
I should probably wait a few days to clear my head but I may as well start asking a few questions.
the "setting up to launch an adwords campaign" thread had lots of quality tips & techniques, perhaps a basis for a youtube e-book?
Anyway's, I tried to relate those comments to my new niche which is small but big for a few into it, i'm going to be doing very much the same as a few others except using a different material so the outcome would be different, it's like whacky types of science experiments.
I had the idea that by starting the channel with a bang, like big $$$ advertising for my first video was going to be the way to go.
Now I see that advertising a new video straight up will have a negative effect on how youtube sees the video and they say it will kill video suggestions right away.
Ok, i'm not impatient so i'm happy to kick off the new channel and try grow it organically like my original channel did, it's kinda slow but it's reasonably solid for my type of niche, scrapping e-waste.
My question is, is it best to upload the first video and steadily upload a new one in sync with how I intend to upload? Say if I want to do 1 video a week, should I start like that or should I do what some experts suggest and upload 6 videos before I even open my channel to the public?
The idea there is when people view one of these 6 video's, they will see other video's and most likely will subscribe because they see content.
I'm really confused which way to go, as if I open my channel with 6 video's straight up, I don't feel they will get much traction and seem like a waste of videos but I guess if I also create a playlist, that will at least seed two connections to youtube.
Anyone have any opinions on starting another channel? How did you go about it and how did you use your existing channel to promote the other? this part I have no idea on but feel some of my subs would go over to the new channel as I do have popular video's similar in theme.
The reason I don't want to add the new niche to my channel is I think I have loyal subs that are very specific to what I do, scrap e-waste and the new style is more for junk time entertainment viewers.
And another reason is I'm not sure which direction I want to continue with in future, I'm just about done with things I can do with the channel as i've covered just about everything I can think of, lately it's been what pops up in my head or I get something new to scrap out but there's not much left.
So instead of making my subs feel like i'm moving on to junk themes, I think having the 2nd channel will allow me to do them and still upload to my original channel and stay on theme.
