Negative Comments- How do you Deal with them?

I Love YTtalk
How do you deal with comments where people call you an idiot or say something negative towards you. Do you leave the comments up? I leave them up and tend to leave a smart a** remark back to them. Here's an example lol

Yeah id usually be super sarcastic or something.

and for the "this contains inappropriate language" comment id tell them if they didn't want to hear inappropriate language then get the f**k off of my channel.

i don't really know what else id say other than trying to p**s them off as much as possible.

** quick note **
WHY THE HELL WOULD THEY BE ON THE INTERNET IF THEY DIDN'T WANT TO HEAR SWEARING?!?

And if they do, why don't they just move on? Its unlikely they've never heard that word before... that is... unless they're like 5 years old.

It depends on what you define as "negative", if someone commented on my video and the comment was truly constructive criticism, then I would take their comment on board. If an idiot comments like that then I would just delete it without even commenting, no need for stupid comments so just delete them. :P

LOL! Then Tupac had to get involved, I see he didn't respond to my fake a** Tupac comment

If a comment is nasty, abusive, stupidly childish, dangerous, or spam, I hide the comments for that user.

They never get a second life with my channel - no reprieve.

This is an action I rarely take, the vast majority of my viewers behave rationally.

There's about a dozen people on the list to date, after 6 years and 3 million views.

My reasoning is that, if they do it once, they will probably do it again, so just kill them off completely.

Also by hiding their comments, you deprive them of their moment of glory (sic).

I decided I would just delete them if they occur (luckily there's not been too many yet and the ones that existed have been super mild). It takes half a second to click the delete comment and invalidate however much time the other person spent, which is most definitely more than half a second.
I get more satisfaction out of that than starting a really stupid chain of insults which is often what the situation degenerates into if you bother replying either in jest/sarcastically or sincerely.

I do feel like it's important to have a mix of different types of people--even the ones who have something to say, but not to the point to where a person is driving away your other viewers because of a comment war. It's just like real life. Personally, if it's just straight up negativity, then yeah [Delete], but if you've got some criticism or like an opinion about something..then sure, I'll hear you out. I'd probably even make subtle changes to better myself for the future. If your opinion involves me changing my content (foundation) or myself as a person, then no one is forcing you to hit that unsub button lol

At the SAME time, I wouldn't fire back at the negativity because it would make me just as bad as him/her :]
(That's just me though. Fire all of your shots if you choose to, content creator lol)

I like this advice, I try not to engage in negativity for my own positive mental well-being.
