Need the help of a computer guru

Hello.

I recently purchased a Seagate 1TB HHD for my desktop. It's all setup everything's plugged in the right place, and the BIOS acknowledges that. However when I go on 'my computer' it only detects my other/old HHD. Is there something I'm missing? I read a theory that it may be something to do with my new HHD is at 3Gb/s and the other uses 1.5GB/s. Is that a legitimate theory or am I over looking something?

Thanks for any help you can give me. If you need anymore details to help solve my problem I'll be more than happy to give them you.

Maybe it's not possible to run both at the same time? Have you tried unplugging your other one and seeing if your new one works then?
Tried this, and the computer doesn't boot as there's no OS on the new HHD. I need to just to detect it so I can image the old hard to my new with the OS along with it.

Start>Right Click on Computer>Manage>Disk Managment

What shows up here? If your new HDD is showing up as a black color it means it's no allocated, if it doesn't show up at all try and have a look at your bios.

EDIT: Sorry, just saw you looked at the bios. It should be in Disk Management then.

I've just done this and it says it is "unallocated". How can I fix this?

Edit: Nevermind I did it. Thank you for your help.
