Need Suggestions about Video editing Programs

Lol people don't game with apple machines....... Just kidding, but most games, if not all, that are released, especially indie games, are on windows pc. I still don't understand the normality of the Apple machines, someone might be able to explain this to me lol.

Haha ok, i am going to buy a new windows pc, what should be a great pc for a gamer and editor? Suggestions about specifications?

Yea I think you need to upgrade that computer then. I'm pretty sure Windows Movie Maker isn't intensive as the other editing software, perhaps it is the lowest requirements of the editing software that I know of. You might have a chance with more researching online and somehow just find an obscure editing program but I doubt it. They say invest in what you what you want to do, time and money.

2 GHz processor (multicore or multiprocessor CPU recommended for HD or stereoscopic 3D)
500 MB hard-disk space for program installation
4 GB RAM (8 GB recommended)
OpenCL™-supported NVIDIA®, AMD/ATI™, or Intel® GPU with 512MB memory or more, for GPU-accelerated video processing and rendering
I found this information online, but better CPU is always better. It can safe hours of time, depending on how long the video is.

I personally would aim for a processor clocked higher than 2 GHz if you are serious about gaming and editing. I would recommend an Intel i5 or i7 for the processor.
At minimum a Terabyte of disk space, because while game installs do not take up much room, screen captures, especially in 1080p or higher do take up an immense amount of room.
I would say at minimum 6GB of RAM if you want to run Windows smoothly and the games at good framerates in HD. I would recommend 8GB though.
Get an NVIDIA or AMD (preferably NVIDIA) dedicated graphics card with at MINIMUM 1GB of VRAM, obviously OpenCL supported since this will allow you to hardware accelerate your renders and video processing.

Personally I think the previous poster is aiming a little low for a reasonable gaming and editing machine - no-one will stay to watch videos if there is much lag in the games. You should be aiming for a minimum framerate of 30fps at 720p or 1080p. Video renders may take longer on a specced down machine but they will eventually happen: you just pay more to speed the process up.

I would recommend Adobe Premiere Pro for your level of editing. It is good and allows you to round trip to audio editing, vfx and colour grading programs easily and quickly. Sony Vegas is okay but I personally detest the interface and workflow. AVID Media Composer is excellent for film but not as good for simple editing.

can it run on the specifications mentioned above?

Nothing better than to check it out. Simply go to the corel video studio www and get the program you can download it for free and try it out for 30 days. So you don't have to buy it straight away. And most importantly if you want to buy it it is not expensive compering to other stuff available. You can try lightworks as you can buy subscription of 7 quid a month. But i recommed you getting corel, try it out and then talk to me and will try to get you smth else if you are not happy .[DOUBLEPOST=1409319719,1409319609][/DOUBLEPOST]Just google corel video studio
Let me know how it goes, the x7 version seems to be finally quite stable comparing to the old versions that liked to freeze quite often.
Regs ;)
