Hey, I tell ya what I do... Well, it might be wasted time on research, however, for me it works.
CHASE UNDERGROUND BANDS, DJ's or authors! They actually don't give a s**t 'bout the rights, and in more than 70% they are glad to share their music (especially if u write them in credits or in description so its visible). My personal opinion is that this kinda music gives special touch to my videos.
I see u have got some good advice's, and I personally love to see someone make their own stuff... But if ur not into it, try to find something else. But try to find something that's not neutral, lazy and image-less... Thats the very last option when there's no any stronger solution.
