I currently writing an article about YouTube and I was wondering how much money is generated by selling merch. Does anyone has some figures or sources?
 
How much money in general on YouTube? That would be a pretty difficult question to answer. There are tons of different vendors that YouTube creators go through, and the statistics on how many pieces of merchandise they sell isn't something they're required to disclose to anybody. What are the parameters of your question?

I have a made a few thousand on Teespring, the shirts have nothing to do with my channel though besides the fact that I have a German Shorthaired Pointer in my videos and I made GSP shirts. I sold those by promoting on Facebook though, all sales cost me $0 for promotion
 
I've only sold like enough shirts to make me £30 (i get about £2 per shirt) and that's over a couple of years xD
it can be done very successfully though, I've never advertised my shirts in any of my videos properly yet.
