Need help ASAP

Another option is upload the file to Youtube and then download it at home. Or take the file upload it at home to youtube and then download it to your computer as an mp4. I have not had this issue. I have FCP 7...

Oh try this when you go to export the file don't export it as a Quicktime use the conversion that is part of FCP7 I am pretty sure you have multiple options for what format you want it exported as.
doesn't it download off youtube at like 480p though? and I thought you would be able to change what logs and captures to.. but I can't find the option anywhere!

Well log and capture and exporting are two different things it is going to capture it with the codec the program uses.. But when you export it from the time line you should be able to export it as a different file type other than .mov. Although you are using an educational version so I am not sure that it has all the features the full does.

it's not the educational version we have the full version :) it's apple approved training center so they get apple products for free to use to educate :)

Bear in mind when uploading to YouTube the video is compressed even further, so it'll take a pretty drastic quality hit if being uploaded and then downloaded to simply transfer the video to another computer.
