Need Canon T3I Help

On my channel I post blogs, but every Sunday or so.. I want to do a topic related video and use my Canon T3I to film. However I am never satisfied with he quality... I have the basic kit lens. I see other people use this lens and have great looking videos. My footage looks clear on the display as I film, but once I go to edit it them Im slightly blurry and out of focus.. Any Tips for Manual Focusing ? I would appreciate any help you guys <3

It looks the same, I don't ever put it into the editing software..which is iMovie btw. But ya i never put it into the software cuz my face/body is never clear and crisp
 
That surely is strange. So I'm guessing your auto-focus won't really work?
I wouldn't really know how to manually focus the camera on my own. I mean I know how to manually focus a camera but not for a video since I stand a few feet away from it. So I wouldn't be able to reach the camera haha
You would have to ask a friend or a family member to help you out. Maybe they could focus your camera before shooting.
But yeah if the auto-focus is having problems then I would get the camera checked cause that's kind of a major problem when it comes to shooting videos alone.

Canon T3I doesnt have auto focus on videos.. anyways I just tried filming with certain settings and manual focus and i have figured everyhitng out the way I wan tit to be :P
 
Im using the canon 600d (is that the t3i??) :D
anyway, i find focusing on mine really easy but its easy to move out of the focus
like if im sitting there talking for a while i tend to move about a bit and that can mean some shots id be out of focus
but it dosnt bother me too much
