i have a group of friends that are interested in doing YouTube videos but don't seem as invested as I want to be what do I do give up on them and do my own thing or what? Sorry if this is wrong place

you could always start off doing videos with them, but do your own thing on the side, maybe have two seperate channels? if you want to do it that badly sometimes you have to go it alone, but at least give them a chance first, good luck!

Be prepared to work alone and format your channel accordingly.
Had a friend who seemed interested and had an idea for a character, we talked concept, name etc.
I was willing to promote his work, do all the recordings, editing, he would have his own logo and I would stitch together the video, but he never came through for me. I basically asked for about 4 hours every other month (I'd shoot his parts for several videos at once) which included setup, recording and teardown.
For the most part, people suck.

If it's new to them, it may be hard for them to get excited. Maybe they just need to try it and see a finished product to see if it's something they'd want to continue doing. From what I've read from others, it's difficult getting groups of people together at the same time to record. So I imagine it'd be even harder if the people weren't as interested in doing it.

We record gaming videos online im not sure wether there just not interested or not sure what it can be. I have one friend I record stuff with now but he half asses stuff so it annoys me and I have other friends who say there down but nothing happens

I recently had a friend who wanted to collab with me, do a video together if you dont understand what i meant sorry if you do haha, but it never happened, i still do videos on my own regardless and hopefully one day be able to have videos featuring others, if i get well known enough that they want to do videos with me!

I know exactly what you mean! I would do all the work and i still had trouble getting my friends to be a part of it. I think they thought it would be a phase, noone would watch our videos and so they didn't want to put in the work. No one saw the vision, so i decided to do things on my own. For my next video i invited people from craigslist/work/anyone i could get to come and i ended up making a pretty sweet video. The video got 1000 views in 2 days.
I am glad i decided to do things on my own, now i get to make all the decisions and i don't have to rely on anyone else. There is a lot more work for myself, but after a few videos you get the hang of it.
Best of all, now that my channel is gaining popularity all my friends (and a lot of others) are starting to get excited about the channel and now are helping me film and come up with new ideas.
