Need a screen recorder and editing software

Hi guys
So i've been using the free trial of Camtasia 8 for the last month and have got on really well with the program. It records my gameplay and has the software to edit my videos afterwards. However now that my free trial has expired i wondered whether to buy the full version (which is about £200) or go for another one? I don't mind investing some money in this so it doesn't have to be free. What i want is a program that i can use to record gameplay videos, both my screen and an input from my webcam and then have some software to edit them afterwards. I'd like the recordings to be in HD so the software will need to be able to render in HD as well please. Any help anyone can give is greatly appreciated :)

Yes, I agree with you, it's really awesome video recorder software with HD quality. I face same problem. You can try adobe product.

Personally, if you can get Action! Mirillis on your computer, it's a LOT cheaper and runs the same. Editing, I would get, if you're willing to spend the money, Sony Vegas. If not, Sony Movie Studio Platinum is what I run. Or Wondershare Video Editor.

A free decent screen recorder is Open Broadcaster Software. As editing software I would recommend Adobe Premiere, which is not free unfortunately.

I second OBS as well. It has loads of features, doesn't take too much effort to learn/get started, and the free-ness of it is nice as well :)

Do the free ones have watermarks on them at all because i'd prefer one with no watermarks :)

OBS does not have watermarks. Bandicam, Fraps do. OBS is good for beginners, but I personally would start with a better recording software if you want better quality videos.

I do want better quality which is why one without a watermark is what i'm after :) What sort of quality does OBS record in?

My personal experience with OBS is kinda crappy. I couldn't get black boxes off of the side of the videos. Right now, I'm running Overwolf, which records in 1080p and no watermarks, plus it's free! I would give it a try. It's small file size and very easy to run.
