National Geographic Channel wants us!

Taking over the world... ...one kid at a time!
I've been contacted by a rep from the National Geographic Channel, they want to use a clip from our Warheads Candy review in a future episode of the Richard Hammond hosted show, "Science of the Stupid"! Basically the show uses internet clips of people doing dangerous/foolish/unusual things as a launching point for some scientific discussion as to what is happening.

Jillian took some offense to the term "Stupid" but I explained there will likely be other clips shown of people eating too many Warheads (or perhaps myself) in addition to theirs. Anyway, I am giving them permission to use the clip and will have to wait a while to see if it actually ends up being used in the show--it could be months, as the fall season is already in place. If it does end up getting used, we will be compensated, not to mention getting some free advertising for our channel. Pretty cool!

That's pretty awesome, congrats! Is this your first TV appearance? I've had a video appear on Animal Planet as well as a Fox News show called Red Eye. My channel name was not mentioned on Animal Planet but it was still funny how they used it. Red Eye put my channel name in the clip and I had a few people confirm that they found the video from the TV show. I did not get paid for either one of those.....

What's weird is that some other company paid me for permission to use another clip on some NBC show, but the show never even came out lol!

Did they offer you compensation up front, or did you ask to be compensated? I'm always afraid that if I ask my clip will not even be used, so I just ask that they put my channel name in the video.

Here's the episode of Red Eye that used the video, go to 7:45 to see how they used it, it's pretty funny

Thanks! We've been on TV before as guests, but this is the first time someone wanted just the use of a clip. They offered us compensation before I could ask about it. Our search engine ranking must be high for them to have found it!

That's a funny clip, Munchito! (It's actually 8:45, not 7:45)

7:45 is where they start talking about the story they use the clip for. The actual clip comes in after the story is introduced.

Ooh awesome! I've never had anyone use my clips for TV. I did have once an offer to fly out and be compensated to shoot in LA but I couldn't at the time sadly.
