Hi, I want to post a video with me talking on Youtube but I really hate my voice. Also I am really nervous since it'll be my first video, and I know that I'm gonna sound really awkward. Does anyone have any tips for this maybe? Thank you for reading!:)
 
Hi Frido,

Don't worry - everyone gets nervous when uploading their first video, especially if it has them talking in it - it's completely normal.

It's also normal to think your own voice sounds weird. Others probably won't think it sounds weird though.

To make sure you don't sound awkward, possibly stick some "flash cards" behind the camera, of what you're going to say (in note form). That way, you don't get lost when talking, and you can just talk about the thing from the heart.

My voice sounds like a lispy cowboy. But that won't keep me down!

Just be yourself and people will like you. It's about personality and if people are gonna diss your videos for your voice, then they stoopid.

I was the same buddy, when I uploaded my first video with voice I thought people would hate me or just criticise me all of the time, but they haven't and now I'm not nervous at all. Just keep making videos and you'll be fine. :)

I absolutely hated my voice when I first started, now I love my voice :D. Just keep going with your videos and as you go along you will get used to your voice :).
 
Yeah I can second that, don't like the sound of my voice, either. Everyone thinks like that. What kind of videos are you going to make? I remember that awkward feeling when I first stood in front of a camera, I was feeling uneasy and was acting all awkward, haha. So before you're shooting the real thing, maybe you want to do some rehearsing in advance, play a little bit and see what position you feel most comfortable in. A lot of people prefer to stand while speaking. Having a good body popsture also helps with your voice. Unless you're doing impro-stuff, write down your in keywords on a piece of paper, that will help you stay focused on what you actually want to say instead of rambling away (which can sometimes be enerving for viewers). Don't worry too much about not doing stuff perfectly, you can edit unwanted footage out, right? Try over as many times as you want, what's important is that you feel comfortable doing your thing. Also try not to speak too fast or too slow, haha. Oh, right, and don't take yourself too seriously! Cheers! :biggrin:

Another option is recording yourself and listening to yourself until you get used to your voice. Either way, you'll get used to it after a while.

dont be nervous i am 13 and i hate my voice aswell i dont care what people think and if you are nervous you can just disable comments
