My question about reddit

I know you have to do something with other peoples post on reddit in order to be able to share a video on reddit but what exactly do you have to do? What is a subreddit? And how many posts do i have to comment in order to have enough?

The answer is: It depends.
A subreddit is a section about any specific topic on reddit.
Some of these sections even allow for self-promotion if you haven't interacted with others before. Other subreddits don't allow self promotion at all no matter how much you interact with others.
The difficulty is to find the subreddit that fits your content best.

It says I have to share subreddits and comment in order to post on videos

In the sub-reddits I use, only 10% of your activity should be self-promotion. Everything else should either be commenting on other postings, text postings asking questions, or other people's content. In other words for every video you post, there should be 9 other entries you make that are not self promoting.

A sub-reddit is a more specific category. For example, most of my posts are food related so the sub-reddits I use are /r/baking /r/food /r/cake decorating

I did that along timeago but it didnt do anything

I haven't really found a good subreddit for posting videos. Honestly, it seems like most redditors hate self-promotions. I subscribe to PartneredYoutube, and you can ask for tips and stuff, but usually it doesn't fly as well as it would here.

The majority of the big subreddits are full of vulgarity to be honest. Reddit had also suffered a blow because of a drama involving Ellen Pao.
