Okay the file is already in a composition so you might not be able to edit it like I thought. However if you use the default black one, add in a image on the bottom track and go into Solids > And delete Background and Background Solid 1, that will remove the background and allow the meter to be infront of the image. Save this as a seperate project though so you don't lose those two files. You can then add a new image on the bottom track each time. If I find a better way I'll write it here :D

EDIT* It also works for the other colors, as they all use the same two solid files :)

Wondered if you'd be able to help me one last time? If I wanted to change the colour of the bar and wave, how would I go abouts doing that? The colours are too light, so it makes it fairly difficult to see with a bright background, I want to play around with the colours until I find one that suits it better.

Well as I'm at work atm I can't look at the file, I can in 5 hours though :(

Until then, have you tried Color Correction on the file in the track? As I remember it there should be a file that affects the bar, trying removing them to find it you can always undo when you see it disappear. You might then be able to go into Effects at the top and choose Hue/Saturation, that should hopefully let you change the color.

Not the best answer really, but I'll post again when I get home with a better answer, if you haven't fixed it by then :D
 
Okay first off all, its trickier than I thought and I'm still looking at how to solve it. In the meantime you could use the other themes with the different colors and just remove those background files. Sorry about that but I'll keep trying to find the solution :)

No worries, I sadly wanted the colour black, which is why i cannot use a theme, but I found an easy fix (just dull the background image, making white easier to see).
