Mount Mics

Dog Crazy
Hey, so I recently upgraded just about everything on my channel and when testing it all out together yesterday, my DSLR microphone really isnt too great, alot of hissing
For now i think ill be fine using audacity to remove the background noise

But does anyone have any suggestions for DSLR mount Mics?

No its a cheap mount on one :(
I was looking at rode mics, gonna have a search around and see whats my best bet :)

I would get a second hand one me in good condition save yourself a bit, I got my mic for around £50. I have the videomic normal one not the pro, I hate the mount as its falling to bits but other than that its decent enough. There is some hiss though. I sometimes do noise removal on it but most of the time its not that noticeable.

I guess there is the mic called Lavalier microphone, pretty cheap, it can be used by putting inside your shirt's pocket or attaching to shirt. It has least hissing, or almost "no".
It can be inserted into your DSLR mic jack I guess!

Lavalier mic only helps with the hiss problem because you can get it closer to the person and which allows you to reduce the mic sensitivity. It has nothing to do with the mic (unless your using a cardioid version). For the camera mic to pic anything up, the sensitivity has to be set higher. A shotgun mic can help because of it's pick up pattern, but I think a lav mic going into a field recorder will probably be best. Just use the camera audio as a scratch/sync track.
