More videos = less views?

ACK!!! So not a messiah, SHHHHHHHH the deity references make me uncomfortable LOL. Some people were calling me "the god of yttalk" once and I was just like "NO NO NO NO NO NOOOOO!!!!!!!" So... rockstar compliments, kingly compliments, insults, all that's fine, please no "messiah" or "deity" jokes, even jokingly I just squirm when I see them. And yeah, it's really annoying man... I can't figure out why it goes that way.
I just realized we are actually at the same level in terms of subs viewers etc. I will call you the right handed Jimi Hendrix (Because I am the left handed one haha) It must be a stage, well I HOPE its a stage otherwise us two are gonna be goners soon!

Over the past 8 weeks I've been working to consistently put out a new comedy video every week. It takes a lot of work, but I've noticed the quality of my work has increased along the way.

Another thing I've noticed is that my views have nosedived (with the exception of one video, but that's just because people are idiots and think babies are in the Illuminati). When I was putting out a new video every month or so, the views came in a lot quicker.

This strikes me as odd. I've heard the opposite is true for a lot gaming channels. Any idea on why this might be occurring?
Maybe the rate that you're posting at is too much? I would try waiting two weeks just this one time and see how it goes. Hope it works for you! :D

That does seem odd. I've definitely noticed this between daily and every-other-day content - that releasing too often can cause one video to canabalize the other, but month-to-weekly seems very odd.

Is it possible the schedule is just too strenuous and quality has suffered?

I'd say it's been just the opposite, actually. I think my videos have definitely improved since I put myself on this schedule. The likes and audience interaction has actually improved while the views have dived. It's quite puzzling.

yeah my stats don't add up either. WIth me it's not so much about amount of output, it just seems like the more subs I gain the less views I get. when I had about 400 subs I could count on 200 views every video, now at over 700 it's a struggle to get 100.... very... disheartening.

I noticed this problem with several youtubers when I first joined this board. I didn't have it myself until I increased my output.

I don't want to mess with my pace. I feel like if I give myself a week off now, It'll be easier to give myself two weeks off next time. Or a month. I need to keep it up for my own sake.

From a viewer's perspective, I think the novelty of videos can wear off too. You watch someone in the beginning because you found their content fresh and funny. Then after a few videos you might not care as much or you discovered someone else more worth watching. If that's the case then the only thing that'll draw me back to that original person was if they release something fresh and different.

So in terms of your increase schedule. If the above was the case, then pumping out more of the same kinds of videos might not help draw attention to your work.

See that's another thing though. My latest videos have all been extremely different from each other as well. It's quite the head-scratcher.

That is quite the puzzle... Only choice is to message each of your subs individually and have them fill out a questionnaire.
