Montage Video's Success

So the other day I released a montage video of Hunger Games, bloopers, funny bits and tense moments. This was all from times we'd attempted to record for an actual video but it wasn't put out for a video, for example, we died early or it was rather boring during the most part of it.

Therefore, I decided to keep any clips we recorded and put it into a montage video, obviously I only put the bits that were worth going in. However, never on any of my video's have I had so many views so quickly, it's already at 424 views when posting this and 25 likes.

I'm wondering, has anyone else made montages before and had similar success or does it happen that I created something that is actually worth watching? You can find the video in my signature if you want to watch it.
 
People are more inclined to watch montages, simply because it's a whole heap of funny moments in a short amount of time, rather then watching a 10-20 minute gameplay and having a good laugh once or twice :)

Hm. I've gained subs from it too. I feel they'll all unsub when I start to put out my regular content again.
 
I didn't create a montage but my last GTA V video I just recorded randomly and posted, didn't promote it at all and it's over 1.2k views now... That's like 10's the views my normal video will get with promotion :')

Sweet, I did a bit of promotion but noting out of the ordinary, the same I do for all my video's. Twitter, Facebook, Skype etc.
 
I used to do live coms but now just usually do best bits of playing. People don't have a lot of free time and I think short videos are what people are looking for. unless you are a big youtuber of course :P
