Monetizing & intro music

I've Got It
Hey, so I was wondering if my intro has about 5 seconds of a copyrighted song, can I still monetize the video? I've seen many youtubers with got name songs in the intro (5secs usually) and was wondering this. Also, is there any limitations on this?
As I cannot post a link, I will refer to " boaty" just ytube the quote, his intro is a copyrighted dubstep song, however it is narrated a bit at the end by him, this again how's back to the limitation I talked about earlier heh :) anyways thanks for the read, hopefully we can clear this up as I don't believe this has been directly mentioned (at least for intro )

If you do monetize it, sooner or later the monetization will be disabled and you'll get an email about it.

But ideally you can't monetize copyrighted songs even if its's a section of a copyrighted song.

Well as it is a "Copyrighted Song" it still falls under copyright, no matter the length. The people who are using it for their intro are most likely falling under the radar and just haven't been detected for using said music. Its always best to get a license or approval before monetizing music like this, as it may not be worth the risk. Just because there doing you might be the guy who they do pick up on.

To be on the safe side, get permission from the creator for using it first, or get some different music from a royalty free site that allows commercial use :)

Good read, and insight! This makes sense, although the example I gave in my op uses a copyright song , he gets away with itt, probs permish. Anyways, I'm looking for good dubstep, such as kdrew but can't seem to find any, any resources or actual artists appreciated :)

Sadly I don't really know any sites for Dubstep music thats commercial use, you can always try these places shown here:

and see if any of those have music you can use, always check what the licensing if for the specific song though.
