Monetize Cover songs YouTube Deal issue

But my friends are following the instructions and successfully monetizing covers that don't use the same notes at all.[DOUBLEPOST=1409609348,1409609285][/DOUBLEPOST]not sure if you have heard of this song before but Royals by Lorde is covered as death metal. that's not the same notes

man now you're saying its covered in different genre. they can still play same notes lol. It doesnt matter. You just don't know the difference between having song played in different genre with different instruments while still playing the same notes.

Guyz,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,I am thinking about a Cover channel and i want to ask that if
I use a Karaoke music of a song, and then put the vocals on it,....will YouTube accept it?

Most probably YouTube will accept it, monetize it and immediately send all the money to the copy right owners (it really depends if the owners allow monetization of their songs or they demand from YouTube to remove them).

If you are speaking for the YouTube cover songs revenue sharing program than - No - unfortunately you are not eligible for it with karaoke songs. Better upload just vocals.

There is no official information but of what I see in our analytics and what I read in the forum it seems to be around 30% (may be 40%) of what we'll receive normally. Also it depends of the studio/copy rights owner (we did cover only of Adele - Universal Music Publishing Group).

but If you play a guitar to Royals by Lorde it's not the same notes because Royals has no guitar in the song just drums and clapping.
