Monetization of new channel from existing ad sense

Hi.

I just started a new YT channel with a business partner. We only have 8 subscribers and a trailer, and I was shocked to go in and see today that an ad has been placed on the trailer.

I read somewhere that YouTube can randomly put ads on your channel if it’s brand safe content. Is this the most likely reason?

It occurred to me that my business partner already has an Adsense account where she is monetizing other channels with 10k+ subs. Would it be possible to monetize a new channel with a tiny amount of subs with an existing ad sense account because her other channels are popular?

Or does every unique channel have to pass the minimum requirements for Adsense in order to get monetized?
