Monetization disappeared on just 2 videos

Looking further I think it is because the title contains the word 'death' which seems a bit ridiculous

I just had this happen to me the other day, I'm not entirely sure what the issue is. There are no copyright dings, or any reason I can discern to why my monetization tab has also disappeared. From what I can gather, it is as kanyo11 is say and that it's a bug that eventually gets fixed. It's a bit absurd though as it makes me wonder if you can recoup those views that you weren't monetizing from youtube or not.

Did you try messaging youtube/google about this? If you think it's because it's "disturbing" and advertisers don't wanna put ads on it, then I feel like youtube owes some sort of explanation.

Thing is there is far worse subjects with ads on. I'm not sure what to do. Don't want to rock the boat as at least this video is gaining me lots of subscribers etc.

Try checking your ad account to see if there's anything reflected in there? I'd still try to contact google and see if there's anything they might be aware of. Because the topic of your video is hardly bad in my opinion.

What you mentioned about death in the title is 100% accurate. YouTube has a new algorithim that is going through Non advertising friendly videos and disabling monetization for them. It happened with 2 of mine, one with ISIS and terrorism as the subject, and the other with mentions of illegal drugs like cocaine. I removed all references to cocaine from the description and tags and was able to get that video monetized again, but unable to do it with the other video so far.

This is happening to a lot of people, if you go to the Google help forums, theyre flooded with posts of the exact same thing. All I can say is going forwrd if you want to make money try to make advertiser friendly stuff, or just be aware you may not able able to monetize some stuff.

Thank you for posting this, I wish youtube was more honest when they make these changes, though this hasn't affected me, its obviously causing problems for other youtubers, that could have edited their titles etc. knowing in advance.

I see, no wonder my "young murderer" video was experiencing the same problem earlier today. I didn't change anything but it came back after a few hours in my case. It must have been under review and passed it.
