Monetising videos.

Well by enabling monetization, you get access to thumbnails which greatly help your videos. Just enable it but don't place monetization on your videos yet :)

You earn money :D You just have to link an adsense account with your youtube. If you aren't 18 then you can get a parent/guardian to do it for you. Not that I recommend doing this or anything, but it doesn't matter one bit if you state that you're over 18. It won't cause any problems.
And no, monetisation is monetization. That's it. It does get you custom thumbnails if you monetise 1 video though.

well not fully because although I aint getting money until I'm 18 and I know that I can have a customised thumbnail which I couldn't before, was wondering if there were any other pluses?
 
I suggest not to monetize videos without an adsense account. You wouldn't like to advertise something for free, huh?
 
I can not tell you. But, if you have a growing active channel, it is always possible. There are al always haters lurking for the moment ;)
