Mirrorless Sony A5100

I just have to say, I am impressed! We bought the camera for multiple purposes.
1-a quick camera to have in my purse for photos of our boys vs. my large canon rebel
2-awesome video quality for vlogs
3-the cool technology behind it

Anyone else have one?

Yes it has stabilizing technology. I would definitely recommend it for sketches and such, probably not for daily vlogging because the lens is a bit bulky, but it's focusing is amazing. Look up videos of it on youtube and vimeo for the a5100 & a6000, I think you'll be impressed.

I have the a6000 and I'm in love with it. The autofocus and stability are awesome. Does the a5 display screen flip so you can see it from the front when you're vlogging? The a6 doesn't and that is the one thing I would definitely change if I could.

Yes it flips up! The only difference between the a5100 and a6000 is the screen flips up, the auto focus on the a5100 is .01 sec slower (literally) and it doesn't have a viewfinder, which isn't a big deal with vlogging and having the screen flip up.

The lens certainly makes it less portable then the canon g7x, but it's a lot more portable then a rebel or mark series. I love it.

I want one so badly because everyone and their momma vlogs with it. I definitely struggle with a dslr and phone quality isn't good enough.

I currently use the Sony Nex 5R with the kit lens - it's a really impressive camera with some gorgeous cinematic-esque video capabilities! I think these too cameras are relatively similar. The mirrorless line up of cameras at the moment seem to have amazing video!
