In terms of microphones under $100, I have 3 recommendations that probably line up with what other people have mentioned before:
Blue Snowball - Cheapest option, you can find these for around $50 on amazon. Very good sound clarity and quality, to my understanding used primarily for voiceovers
Blue Yeti - The next step up from the Blue Snowball, biggest advantage is the increased form, settings, and capabilities for recording available for singing/music/voiceovers, etc., around $100 on amazon but I got mine for $85 when there was a sale
Zoom H1 - This is a microphone I would recommend if you want a handy recording microphone that can be portable as well, very clear crisp sound recorder that can fit in your pocket or be mounted on a tripod and used like a regular mic, retail usually around $100 but I've seen it dip to around $75-80 on amazon
