Microphone Tips for a newb?

I made a quick tutorial on compression - hopefully this should get you started? I cover using the Audacity filter :)
Finally figured it out, it wasn't my mic at all! Praise the lord! All I had to was tweak stuff a little a bit and gisikw's video was EXTREMELY helpful, thank you a ton. My voice is now crisp and clear and better than ever and I am really excited to post a new video soon!

Maybe is just not a very good mic. I know it's hard to drop money on something when you're just starting out but you want a mic that's 70+ dollars. Cheaper ones are shaky and not so reliable. I personally don't use anything on my voice recordings cuz it sounds good by itself. I paid 80$ for mine tho. Also check reviews online before buying a mic, like on Best buy, the online catalog. it really helps!
