Hey guys

Channel description
My name is Vitali, I mainly produce walking videos from nature and forests.
There's no annoying talk about me and I don't put music over the videos, I just show the pure hike.
I publish the videos as a premiere so that I can interact with my viewers via live chat.

About me
I've always enjoyed being out in nature and a few years ago I thought about whether I could start my hikes.
The thought has matured over the years and at some point I looked at whether this type of content already existed and if so, how other Walking YouTubers produce their videos.
After I had the necessary equipment, I went out and took pictures of forests and hiking trails.

Equipment
I use the DJI Osmo Pocket 2 to record the videos.
It is a compact camera that records with 4k60 and has a gimbal function.

I'd be happy about feedback.

I check out a couple. Very relaxing and nice imagery. Some of them are very long! You seem to have found a nice niche so keep it up!

Welcome to the forum Vitali. Good topic idea & great camera choice :up2: I also think some videos are too long, personally I love cutting things out & making videos as short as possible, but you do what you feel is right at this time, follow your passion.

Hey mirrorlessNY, thank you for the feedback. I'm still trying different lenghts of the videos. I also think shorter Videos would be good. The next thing i'm working on is the sound quality.

:up2: yes audio is a big deal, windmuffs/deadcats are essential for outdoors to muffle the wind noise, I try to make shorter videos because of several reasons = we have short attention span & not enough time, at the same time some of us like long videos because it's like a story, an adventure

Length of videos is interesting. Lately my videos have been in the 4-5 minute range but I've done some 8-12 minute videos as well (usually longer backpacking trips). I subscribe to a couple channels with guys who do 30-40 minute videos and I enjoy their longer form adventures so there's definitely an audience for everything.

I'd be interested to know what people think from a watch time perspective - it seems like on average people watch approx. 50% of any given video. Knowing that, I guess I'd be better off focusing on longer videos if I wanted to stretch out my watch time.

I often watch Odd Tinkering and Rambalac, they make long videos, especially Rambalac, sometimes he makes videos longer than an hour and have success with that content. Another YouTuber called Watched Walker makes premieres with every video, he have 300 - 500 viewers per premieres and the videos are sometimes 90 minutes, so he make tons of viewtime.

those are some big channels, I watch similarly sized photo/videography YouTubers, it's like going to a gym & seeing heavyweight bodybuilders  being a realist though helps me not worry about low views/subs, but rather keep making enjoyable & memorable content that can also be used as experience to help find a job
