Messaging People

What do you guys think of people who message you to check out their video? I have seen it being a pretty effective method but I don't want to spam/irritate others with messages even though I would try my best to be kind. Should I try it?
 
This has been brought up multiple times in the forums before, and the general consensus has always been not to and it's considered annoying.[DOUBLEPOST=1367098806,1367098754][/DOUBLEPOST]But by all means, feel free to experiment. I've just personally never looked at someone's video who messaged me and will even sometimes block it as spam.

I haven't heard that before!!!
But yeah.. it would be super annoying to receive messages from strangers asking you to check out their video!

Really? Yeah most of the time I don't bother checking it out, I'm just curious about it.
 
Like others have said, I think it's spam. I don't even check out the video. And contact requests seem wasted because people just add you as contacts but then never follow up. So that's what I think.
