Memory cards for a Canon camera?

AYRENvids

I need to stop caring too much.
Today I received my Canon Powershot SX15o IS camera. All's good so far, the problem is it came without any memory cards and is basically useless at the moment since it won't let me take pictures or record.

I feel like this might be a stupid question but what type of memory cards fit this camera?
Do all of them go just fine with it? Is there a specific brand I should look for?

I'm looking at the cards I could get here in Estonia right now. I guess a Transcend card should be fine since it was recommended as an additional purchase under this camera.
I don't see Transcend a lot though and I'm preferably looking for a 16 GB card so some are expensive as hell.
However, the online stores here show me a lot of Silicon Power and Sandisk cards... Are those fine too?
I honestly don't know anything about memory cards. All of them are even shaped differently so I'm not sure which ones would even fit inside the camera.

Also, I see a lot of "Secure Digital HC" stuff. No idea what this even means, does anyone here know?

SD cards come in different writing/reading speeds (over here commonly labeled classes) so you should check which minimum speed your camera requires (should be in the manual somewhere). Sandisk is a good brand, I use their Extreme series class 10, 45 mb/s SDHC cards for my canon 600D. But you can probably use cheaper ones (than the Extreme series, I mean, not saying that Sandisk is particulary expensive.) I would stay clear of megacheap no name cards though.

Honestly anything above a Class 6 SD card is overkill for that camera. If it happens to be a Class 10 and you don't have to pay any extra, by all means, go for it-but don't waste money on the speed of the card when it won't help you out at all.

SanDisk SDHC Ultra 16GB 30MB/s. Is it class 10? Am I good to go with this one? I'm looking through the manual right now, can't find anything about speed, maybe you know better and could check this for me?

Yeah, that one will do. Not sure if there would be cheaper alternatives but you should be on the safe side with that one.
