Mean people on the Internet

Wow.....that's just disgusting. What is wrong with people? I'm sorry, I didn't know you had cancer....may I ask what kind? I hope you're okay!
I mean it's either people are desperate for attention, or they really do think that way. Even if they don't mean it, they're saying it...so it has to mean something to them right? If that makes any sense.

Oh it's okay it has never been upsetting to talk about or any kind of secret :) I had (deep breath) Stage II Primary Large Diffuse Mediastinal B-Cell Lymphoma (aaand breathe). The Stage II was 'upgraded' to Stage III/IV due to heart problems it gave me.

It was basically a mahoosive tumor in my chest cavity that was 10cm by 8cm (hence the heart trouble), and it had metastasized slightly to a lymph node in my left clavicle, but not that much.

That's what I mean; it's not like these things are shouted heat of the moment, thought must be put behind them. The scary thing is I honestly don't believe they're all little kids that do this either.

Wow......I had no idea! Thanks for telling me anyway :) It's definitely not all just kids. I see so many comments when watching TYT news stories. So people get in there and state their opinions as facts, say absolutely horrid things etc, and you can tell they aren't that young. Someone once asked me "then why do you keep reading them?" I don't know why, maybe just to remind myself that there are people out there, who are like that.

I mean perhaps you have to go through certain things to truly see why it's so wrong to mock people because of it? Like I know some people who says kids oughta be locked up and blah blah, but they've never had kids, nor really been around NICE kids (they have one nephew who is a brat). Whereas me, I have two lovely nieces, who are golden so nasty comments about kids don't sit well with me.
 
Stay with me, I'm kinda paraphrasing here, but the observation is:

By modern day human slavery, we have Chinese factory workers working in s****y conditions so bad they rather suicide, making these smart phone devices for us. Just so we can take it into the washroom and sit on the toilet and post some mean comments on YouTube.

I think the reason those people post the things they do is because they don't realize how much more beneficial it is to the human race if they clicked away from the video rather than typing out a few words onto their keyboard.
 
Cyberbullying isn't as serious as actual bullying. On the internet, you can block and report people. Or, you know, close the computer. You can't just shut everything down in real life.
This is why I never understood why people get so worked up about "trolls" and "haters." I get that it might hurt your feelings, but I just can't feel sorry for people who end up traumatized by cyberbullies, like Jesse Slaughter or ChristianU2uber.
 
Well it depends on what you consider mean .
A person saying " I hope you die " to a 13 years old girl with cancer is not mean , it's called being an ******* .
A person saying your content suck is not being mean in my opinion . This person is just giving his/her opinion about your content .
Yes , " you suck " isn't the best way to express an opinion , but still it's an opinion .
In that case I am " mean " . Well , I don't say " You Suck " . I usually tell you why I think it that way .
Example
Yesterday I was watching this guy's Dota 2 video where he was trying to explain how to play hero X .
Nothing wrong that , right ?
The thing is , he was horrible . Like a really bad player and he was acting like " I'm the best " .
Wrong items builds , wrong skill builds , wrong calls and in general , he was bad .
I watched the whole video . It was like 40 minutes of gameplay . And at the end he said something like " I have the best quality content you can find on Youtube " and stuff like that .
When I heard that , I couldn't resist and I made a comment long 3 comments .
About why he is bad and about why his content is s**t .
Now , he blocked me and to be honest I'm ok with that .
I won't be watching his content anymore just because he suck and he thinks he's doing everything right .
The thing is , when someone asks me to suggest a Dota 2 player to watch , I won't suggest him .
And I get loads of requests like that because I used to play competitive Dota .
Now , getting back to the topic .
A lot of people here think their content is high quality and can compete with big Youtubers .
Maybe they don't say it loud but they think it and when they read a comment saying " I don't like X about you " they get offended and start calling everyone a hater and stuff like that .
And I don't think giving you my opinion , even if negative , is being mean .
It's just me being honest .
I think you can see the real face of a person on the internet .
Because in real life 8 out of 10 people will lie just to make you feel good .
Or they don't want to argue with you . Whatever the reason is , they will lie .
You get used to this and then you meet me , a honest person , and you will call me mean just because I told you what I think of you .
And on the Internet people will tell you what they think because they don't know you and don't care if they hurt your feelings .
So , I wouldn't say " Mean people on the internet " I'd rather say " More honest people on the internet " .
And those commenting like " I hope you die " and stuff like that to a really sick person are just assholes .
No comment on that kind of people .
