Right now, I have 8 covers posted.
When I upload a new cover, it will say (sometimes it takes a few days) "Matched third party content" in my Video Manager.
Clicking on the "Matched third party content" will lead me to another page that tells me what I should do.
I have only ran into two scenarios so far:
First scenario:
I'll have the option to acknowledging the copyright or fight it. Of course I'm going to acknowledge it.
This usually just means the owner can put ads onto the video and you get no revenue from it etc.
After that, my video would say "Acknowledged third party content" in my Video Manager.
Second scenario:
I'll have the option to do shared monetization which means the owner gets a split of the revenue earned.
You should also notice that on the copyright page it says "If you agree with these conditions, you don't have to do anything".
So I just leave it as that.
As of now my account status for community guidelines and copyright is in Good Standing![Smile :) :)](/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/smile.png)
That's my experience with covers, hopefully it was helpful!
Edit: You could also check Copyright Notices under Video Manager of Creator Studio
Double Edit: There may be more legal stuff to deal with if your covers ever blows up. I don't know how that stuff works as I am a small YouTuber.
