Making a Gaming Montage, Any Tips?

Hi guys I am working on a Black Ops 2 Montage and was wondering if you guys could provide any tips? I use After effects/Vegas by the way.

I would recommend not using jump cuts, but use transitions in between each clip you use to make it run more smoothly, also choose music that fits the montage, like if you are doing a fast paced montage, use fast paced music.
