Machinima: important changes

I actually used to like watching Machinima when the had Hutch, Sark and Seanners presenting everything, they had the sort of humour that i like. Ever since there was the big uproar about their shady contract dealings though they have just been constantly going downhill and im sure not many people are surprised with the layoffs. It sucks that people have lost their jobs but with the way Machinima handle a lot of things it will probably just keep getting worse.
I totally agree with you, the reason to watch Machinima and why it was so successful was because of the directors, they had partners that people enjoyed a lot and it worked well for them. The problem I think that Machinima have is that they have been way to slow to respond to changes with YouTube networks and the whole model they use now simply doesn't work anymore. I mean, other network's are just out competing them and are offering way better features while Machinima still offers the same things they did 3-4 years ago. They definitely need to re-structure now or I see them sinking in the ground at the end of the year.

None of this is good news for the average Machinima content creator.
:eek: I'd have thought they'd love losing adsales for a few 10 minute episodes on Machinima Prime :eek:

On a serious note, there's no doubt that premium "TV" quality programming is important but I just think they should be going more of the way of Fullscreen who got the MCN part of them mostly down first before proceeding.

FS does do some things right especially if you're a smaller channel. Otherwise, if you're looking for premium ads or sponsors, FS isn't the place. I can't get them to show me actual data on what they are providing for my channel. It is so easy for them to provide this. Freedom just showed how YouTube provides the data to networks. I'm sure that the reason that FS doesn't want me to see is because it is a small number that doesn't off-set most YouTuber's revenue share. My rev share covers it but not most channels.

Fullscreen's tools are defiantly their best features.

Revenue wise, I agree, Gorilla is usually a pain for both sides involved.
and Adrev; It depends on your channel I suppose, Maker is another one I've heard of selling absolutely no ads for channels with 5-20M+ views monthly, some MCNs target the top 25, some target the top 10, some try and sell broadly.

@Shane.C
Gorilla is worthless. Many of the campaigns are to promote other channels. Most of the campaigns are not available to all channels. Finally, very few campaigns are initiated by FS (except for channel promotions). The vast majority of actual products or services from Gorilla are initiated outside of FS.

What peeves me most is that they view Gorilla as being 'sponsors' for channels. I highly disagree with that definition.
