Macbook Camera - Yes or No?

I know it's 2014, and everyone and their mama has a DSLR. But, I can't afford one right now and my cameras battery is broken. I want to start working on a series that can't really wait for me to buy a replacement battery. Is a MBP's camera considered horrible in this day in age. I know about basic light, sound and framing (I suppose you can check my latest video to see what I mean)...but would it be 'acceptable' for a vlogger.

It sure is! As you say, you know lighting can go a long way.
As long as the content is good enough, many people will forgive "meh" video.
 
To begin with, a macbook webcam might be okay, but perhaps use your phone's camera as they are often significantly better, assuming it was made in the last 7 years or so :P

Anything below 720p isn't really good for youtube, the lighting from that camera probably won't be good too. You could always just get an external HD webcam and put it on top of your mac's screen :).
 
If its the Kardashians video I think while it isnt ideal if it gets the job done then I would go for it, just make sure the content is great. If you have no other option such as better video though your phone, if you do decide to do it with your phone you could try and get a mount for it so it clips onto things like a normal tripod, top of your screen etc :)

Yeah I think it's good enough! Good lighting would do plenty to male your video look good and the macbook doesn't have a bad webcam.
 
As long as you get the lighting right the camera will look fine, I've used my iMacs camera for a college project before and I just set it up with a 3 point lighting and my tutor thought I used one of the college cameras :L
 
If your lighting is good the quality can be good as well. I recommend doing the blogs outside in sunlight

that camera should be fine man. all in all it just depends how you feel with the look of it..if you're just worried about what others think then you'll be fine with that camera granted you provide really good content and you've never lacked in that department! so just go make some videos and and try to stay consistant!
