Im basically searching around trying to see if I can get one donated to me or something cause I can't seem to save anything at the moment. But I've always wanted one cause I've never messed with iMovie. Only Vegas[DOUBLEPOST=1448340942,1448340852][/DOUBLEPOST]
I think its the interface that pulls most in and just the user friendly features, as far as I know.
I've only ever briefly used Vegas, but personally, I prefer iMovie. It doesn't have quite as many features as Vegas, but it's much more user friendly in my opinion, and Vegas is very particular about lining clips up perfectly and it can be a pain to move things up if you've deleted a clip in the middle. I don't know if that's because I hadn't found that tool or something, but I just feel like everything in iMovie is easier, and all the tools are much easier to get to. I'd search reviews of iMovie if you want to make a decision between the two. Obviously Final Cut Pro is the better option, it's basically iMovie with a billion extra features, but it's £200, and so it can take some saving for. I personally don't even feel like an upgrade to Final Cut is necessary yet, maybe when I start shooting bigger projects (And I actually get another job because I just lost mine).
Mac basic editing programs are more basic and easy to learn than some of the windows one, tough both have premiere pro the only difference might be the controls. Also people there are things around the interweb were you can find the programs *wink wink* , I myself use Final Cut Pro and before I use to use WMM for AMVs and everything work perfectly
I've used Vegas since I was 16 and I've come to know the controls relitivly well. I'm just not sure if I wanna take the leap of faith hahaIt depends on what you're more comfortable working with
