Looking for some advice please on my latest video

I have started a new series with a friend, including some new render settings. Personally, I think it could be a bit better, but I'm not exactly sure where.

I use Sony Vegas, probably going to switch to something else, not exactly sure what yet though.

I do have a handful of Minecraft videos, but the latest one is what concerns me the most. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

The main problem with the video is that from the get go you didn't really seem to know what you were going to talk about. Generally before doing a video it is a good idea to think up a hard hitting intro sentence, or paragraph. Something that will pump up not only you and your enthusiasm to get the video commentary going but also so that the audience is pumped with you.

Example:

"What...is...up everyone! It is I eveahbot with my good friend and mining compatriot known as Lucasgreen! Now lucas before we get this going I think we need to tell our viewers how much we love this game and why they should be playing it aswell. (You then state your opinions and continue onwards with the commentary to the best of your ability).

The thing is that even though it is called 'Casual Minecraft' you shouldn't talk as if you are slouched back on your chair with one hand in a Dorito bag. You need a real oompf when you speak. Make it so your viewers know that you really give a crap about what your video is. Make casual the new exciting. Literally sell Minecraft to your audience by being really passionate about it.

For another example you say "One can never have too many sticks". Ok, why is that? Add some commentary about the game's resource mechanic around why sticks are important. You also start going "I have this...and I have that........and I have this." Big no no. You sound like you just ran out of steam. You always missed out on a bunch of major comedy opportunities when Lucas said "I have wood" I was literally screaming in my head like 5 different hilarious reactions you could I replied to him saying that.

Also even out Lucas' audio levels. He was literally making my table vibrate ;p

Finally stop saying "rape" it is uncomfortable to keep hearing you both say. Try mixing up your vocab by saying other things. Though what you say is your job.

Thanks for the feedback! I'm getting over a rather severe bout of bronchitis which unfortunately affects my ability to speak clearly :P.

Usually when I do Mod Showcases, I write notes. I didn't do it this time, and I do admit I was a bit lost at first especially given this was the first time I did a co-op Let's Play.

However, I do appreciate your feedback! I'll look to improve on it in the future videos!

Just released the second episode of the series today. We definitely tried to correct most of the issues like audio issues, and I adjusted my video settings so the dark areas don't appear too dark on YouTube.

We also attempted to form an agenda and stick to it, which unfortunately didn't happen in this episode. We did however record the third episode which does accomplish something.

As far as the audio is concerned, my mic isn't the best in the world. Its quiet when its supposed to be louder and loud when its supposed to be softer. My ears aren't the best in the world, so what sounds good to me on my equipment and settings might not sound that great on another set up.
