Looking for new gaming headset

As the title suggests I'm in the market for a new gaming headset, but have no idea what to look at. I'm still using my first ever headset, the Turtle Beach X11, which I bought almost 4 years ago. Good sound quality is key, as I do some competitive gaming, but I would also like a good quality mic for call outs, as well as quality voice in my recordings. If anyone has any knowledge regarding this please help me!! Many thanks community :)

Get a pair of Sennheisers (Headphones), and a Blue Snowball for a mic. It's a pretty smashing combo if I do say so myself.

get the blue snowball if you can splash the cash. i would reccomend (ONLY ID YOU HAVE 5.1 SOUND CARD) the Roccat Kave 5.1 XTD

For where I am right now I'm looking for more of an all-in-one before dropping that kind of money, even though my friend has a snowball and it is amazing.

Sennheisers are definitely a good buy but you don't have to go for the typical yeti mic, I use a samson co1u for my gaming /mrpixeleyed

I was thinking about sticking with turtle beach and waiting a month for the XO Four headset to come out. Seems pretty nice and having it compatible with my Xbone as well as my pc seems pretty good.

I use PX21's on my xbox. They work on Pc too and are supposed to be for PS3, but work on anything. Really clear audio as well. I've had them for over 2 years and they still work :)
Yesterday I went 47-0 with them on ghosts :) GT:iTvM

I stay away from turtle beach because i had the Z2 and there was an issue that lots of them have where there is only 1 screw keeping the ear cup to the frame. after 3 months they snapped clean off (and I am VERY carefull with them and didnt take them anywhere with me)

Strange - I don't take much care when handling them, take them to my dad's house, friend's houses etc... Never had an issue apart from one of the foamy ear pieces falling off but that fits straight back on :)
