Looking for a good microphone

Not every mic from blue is good. The cheaper ones are actually bad. The ones which are good and affordable are the Snowball and Yeti. :p
Oh, hmm... didn't know that. I read reviews about them all when I was choosing and they mostly said anyone will be great. Well good thing I picked the right choice! :)

I personally liked my old headset mic. If you're not video taping your face or anything there are some pretty good headset mics out there. I don't remember the brand that I used, but it was about $30. I'm sure they have some on Amazon.

I'd highly prefer not to have a headset as I mainly rely on my speakers

I'm looking for a microphone (maybe even one of them clip on mics). However, I don't want a headset.

I would like to use it for multipurpose things e.g. VOIP and commentaries.

I know about the Blue Snowball iCE (£60), but surely there's gotta be more than just that as an option?

Perhaps maybe a cheaper option?

Thanks
The cheaper you go on sound equipment the lower quality sound you will have. If you want quality you have to pay for it. A snowball mic is a very good quality mic for a nice pricee. Just save up until you have enough thats what I did.

yes, that wasn't my point of starting this topic - i was merely looking for cheaper alternatives for the blue snowball.

Well you can always look on the Amazon website or ebay full of cheap mics on there. Maybe you can even by one on your locl classified ad.
