Longevity of YouTube

I Love YTtalk
What do you think about the longevity of YouTube.com, longevity meaning how long it will be around for and be active? What do you think would stop YouTube from continuing in the future if something could? (I'm not talking natural disasters there by the way ;)). Do you think YouTube will be around in the year 2030? 2040? 2050? or onwards?

Share your thoughts with us what you think about this, it will be interesting to see what people come up with.

Personally I think it will be around as long as online video is the number one choice for people or as long as video lasts for, then again in the future YouTube could evolve in a sense too into something more embedded into our lives like where you dont need a PC or visual device to watch what's on there. Thats just me dreaming a little there :D I cannot see it going down during my own lifetime to be honest.

I think it will around for years video is what is in and it doesnt look like it will ever go out its the new text i think :D i hope it lasts forever the website is my favourite
 
I think it will only go down when they cannot afford the servers personally or something better takes their members/viewers away which I can't see happening any time soon.
 
Well if you think about social media. Myspace, bebo, facebook etc. It changes all the time. Youtube could easily be made obsolete if something better comes along. Also, Youtube makes a loss of millions of dollars every year so it's not that stable at the moment. I hope it sticks around though.
 
Very long. I mean i believe we cannot really go anyfuther in the way of technology. we have advanced so much in the past 30ish years its unbelivable. but as the world generates new technology, it gets to a poitn where now all we cnan do is make speed faster, make things quicker, and just try adding things together, like a fridge and a chicken, to make a Ficken or a Cridge
 
I think it will take a big change on the internet for youtube to fail epically. I think it will be around for a long time because they seem to know what their doing.
 
It seems like YouTube is doing pretty well at evolving and growing with time, but who knows, maybe one day something else will come a long and beat it out, but It seems like it's going to be around for a while, especially since traditional media are converting over to it with the release of movies, VEVO's, live streams etc. I hope it sticks around because it's a brilliant site, but who knows business stuff can be very unpredictable at times
 
YouTube seems like it's here to stay. I never hear any other site have as many gatherings as YouTube does. Like CTFxC say internet killed television, one day I think that'll be true.
 
I think youtube will be around for a long time just the fact that they are owned by google, unless something extremely detrimental happens to google I couldnt picture it leaving anytime soon.
