Loads of dead subs

I've Got It
I've been working on my Let's Play channel for almost 6 months now. Gotta say, I started out with uncommented videos and have only been doing Let's Plays for 4 months, plus it's only been 6 weeks since I started using a decent microphone. I'm at 52 subs right now, but I still rarely have videos getting more than 10 views. I had about the same amount of regular views on the daily Let's Play videos when I was only at 25 subs. What could I do to improve this? Might it be a good idea to start a new channel, tell my still active subscribers about the new channel so they come over and the dead subs stay at my old channel? Because my most viewed videos, by far, are my early uncommented videos and I'm pretty sure I also got lots of subs from there. These subs seem to be mostly uninterested in Let's Plays.

I don't think that will solve the problem. You just need to continually get new subs to replace the inactive ones.
Some people might not be active youtube users, and they might have missed your notification for a new video.
Don't rely on subscribers to be the ones watching your vids.
Some people may have subbed, but their subbing lost amongst hundreds of other channels they have subbed to.
Have you tried posting your videos on social media sites, like stumble upon or trinding?

I don't think you should start a new channel, just because that 6 months of lets plays costs you a lot of time. I suggest just creating a new idea that people will look up and view so you can gain active subscribers.

Don't start a new channel. Most views don't come from subscribers. The reason you want subscribers is that they are more likely to watch your videos. So if only 10 people view it means your probably need to promote better.

And there you have your 'problem'. You gained subscribers for a certain type of video you did and after you changed to let's plays they didn't watch it (but didn't bother to unsubscribe either). See these 'old subs' as a little bonus to get you to that 100 and focus on the audience you have now.

You created a new niche on your channel (let's plays) which has a different audience. So basically you are starting at about 10 subs (based on your views). Just focus on that, continue to do what you like best and try to reach your new audience through promotion. Be active on (gaming) forums, social media, discord and other mediums that are likely to have an audience that will be interested in your videos.

Thanks to everybody for the advice. I'm already using trinding, but have never used stumble upon. I will look into that. I'll do some more work on the promotion part. Thank you all, this really helped!

What category would you put a youtube channel as on stumble upon?
