Live Streaming from channel

After looking around the forum, I am not sure where to post this, so I'm posting it here

What is the status w/ livestreaming from your youtube channel? It had something like "youtube is now broadcasting live using hangouts" or some such at the top of my channel. Now it's not there. I have heard that some accounts have that ability. Is that the case?

Are you a partner yet?
 
forgive my ignorance. A youtube partner? How does one become a parner? I don't think I am. I have no uploaded content on my channel. I did see the info about live streaming, tho and now it's not there. Just wondering what people knew about live streaming from you channel.

Okay so you have to be a Youtube Partner, or with a network to livestream. You can however broadcast a Google hangout without being a partner
 
thank you. how do I become a partner? and what kind of network can I be with? example? is it "networks" that post their live shows on Youtube Live? how does one get approved as a network. sorry so noob.

Well you need to actually post content first. Then you apply to the network. You post the live shows, the network only gives you the ability to do so.
 
gotchya. that is the answer to so many things. if i was an independent musician and wanted to stream live to the world, i need to approach one of the networks to stream me live, or i need to use google's hangouts on air. is that right? are you familiar w/ how it said "now you can stream using hangouts" at the top of youtube channels, and now its not there? was just wondering what that was about.

I don't know about Google Hangouts, I don't use it. But if you want to stream, use a site like Twitch
