Listen to music while you edit.

Hey I actually like editing :(

Sadly music can't work, I need to be really listening to what I'm editing for any sound oddities.

Well, if you enjoy editing that's awesome. It's not that I don't enjoy it, it's just that it can get tedious sometimes. And I find that listening to music while I work really helps with concentrations.

Except the music can mask the noise or little bumps

I listen to music while I'm cutting the video. But once I'm done that I watch the video and see if there's any fine tuning I need to do. So if there's any audio that's out of place or needs fixing, I still catch it. But while I'm doing the actual work, music helps me concentrate.[DOUBLEPOST=1386301955,1386301846][/DOUBLEPOST]Also, I went to school for audio engineering so I know what I'm doing when it comes to getting good clean audio for my videos.

So you're saying you'll hear a bump in your audio over music? I don't doubt your abilities, but stuff like that happens to even the best of us, and it's nice to catch it.

If there's a bump in the audio, I would catch it once I'm done cutting the thing together and going over it. I know I won't hear it when I'm listening to music. But I will hear it once I'm done editing and I watch the video in Final Cut to see if there's anything I missed. I turn the music off when I do that.

Good point, good point.

Editing is my favorite part of making videos, regardless how complicated the project is.

I only listen to music when I'm using Adobe After Effects to do effects shots or Photoshop to edit images. I have to listen to all the sounds when I do regular editing.

Let's face it, editing is the least fun part of making videos. I find what helps is putting on iTunes at about half volume and let it play as you edit. It makes the time go by a lot quicker!
Editing to music can be great if you are doing something sort of repetetive and easy but if you have to do something were you reaaaally have to concentrate I, at least can't do a proper job whilst listening to music, especially if it contains lyrics ;P
