I second what everybody said about reddit.
The videos I did share to reddit got more views than my other videos because people did click them, but it wasn't really that substantial of an amount (about 100 extra views). Unless your video vibes to an incredible extent with that subreddit and actually gets upvoted into the "hot" section, it's not going to do that much.
However, every single video I shared on reddit got a dislike. Thankfully it was just a single dislike for each video, but a dislike it still is. I'm sure I got likes from some people on reddit as well, but in comparison videos I didn't share on reddit have not received any dislikes.
This probably can't apply to all videos, but since I do reviews, what I find is much safer is to make a comment in a larger thread on the same topic (a thread about the episode for example, and share my review there) where I include a link to my video review. That way people will only click on it if they are legitimately curious, and while you won't get as much traffic the chances of getting downvotes is very small and the chances of the people watching actually being interested is a lot higher.
The only problem with this method, however, is that this only applies to recent events and you have to have made your video while that reddit thread is still fresh and active, because if you come a week or two weeks later to post your review in that thread, the thread would already be 99.9% dead.
