licensing videos

I've Got It
iv been approached by viral hog to license my video with them, iv decided to go ahead with them at a 60/40 split, since being with them my video has shot up about 600 views over night which for me is crazy! (still no more subs) ><
i was wondering if any of you had done this before, and if so how it all works, obviously they get all the add revenue from the video, and apparently i dont see any of it until i hit $75 or something, that seems to be a long way if any if im honest :/ is it a scam or does this kind of thing really work?

I got contacted by Freedom, they told me that they would promote my channel and offer me some tools with a 60/40 split. I didn't say anything back and read up on them, apparently they like to spam channels and don't really promote you that well. A lot of partners you have to be careful with since they can be dodgy and hold out on your payments but basically YouTube takes %55 of your revenue and if your partnered with a network they take a share from that (so YouTube takes 55% and what's left over the partner splits whatever was negotiated) so if you made $50 dollars you won't have to wait for it to hit the limit at which YouTube will finally pay you at, the network pays you without having to wait for it to reach that.
So what's the point of networks if you are getting more money just being with YouTube? So a good network will display the right ads and promote those the right way to get people to click on those more which in turn generates more revenue for you. They will also offer you free music libraries and tools to benefit your videos. For someone who is starting out I don't really care about money right now so a 40/60 split would not bother me as long as I am on a no lock in contract and they are promoting my channel, this just means If I start gaining a following and really start making money I can back out of the contract or renegotiate. I'd say research the network, some people will upload their experience with the network so go watch as many of those as you can. Bigger networks offer you a 90/10 split if you meet the requirements so just bare that in mind. If the network is really helping your videos blow up that much then I'd say stay with them until your satisfied since you won't really be making proper money until you start making videos that are getting over 10k views at least.

So the video is on your channel still right? Or did they also upload the original video to their own site as a non-youtube video? I have worked with Break.com, Rumble.com, and a few other sites. They have options to take one up front payment, or you can do it based on views. I have not worked with Viral Hog so I can't tell you how they work.

my video is still on my channel, however they did ask me for the original to be sent to them so possibly uploaded it under there own website or something, however without them id still be at about 30 views whereas currently its jumped to 600 views, my video also says copyright on it so assuming i wont be getting adsense from it.
viralhog basically buys videos like mine and sells them on to other people that wish to licence them, so im unsure whats happening, i thought id give it a go though since im not getting any views/subs on my own lol

I tried something similar with Viral Spiral, they put a copyright on my video as well. It hasn't really gained many views, I got most of them on my own. I just figured they may be able to get a sweet licensing deal for a dog food commercial or something. Nothing yet though

Nothing from Viral Spiral yet. I got a report saying how much I have earned and it was not much because the views died down. They haven't licensed it to anyone or anything so they haven't made anything but a percentage of the very small amount I have made so far. Site like Rumble have paid up front and then they post the video on their site and see what kind of earnings they make through their own ads. I've made a lot with Rumble. Viral Spiral is a different business model. They have a platform where big brands can look at videos VS decided to work with. They choose from the videos in this platform and often license the really good ones apparently and they end up on big commercials and other stuff. I figured I'd give it a try, so far nothing though.

Yeah the company I'm with sounds like that spiral tbh, my views ain't really worth anything right now haha very much doubt anyone wil licence it but hey Ho
Did you get approached by rumble or did you go to them first?

Out of all of the viral licensing companies, Viral Spiral is the one I have only good things to say about. They offer a reasonable contract, and are very helpful to their partners. Jukin Media are scammers, and don't pay properly. They owe me hundreds of dollars, and I'm considering taking legal action.
