I'd say yes because of somebody watches one of yours videos and notices the thumbnail they will go away thinking that was a cool video but then when they see another thumbnail with the same background they will look and go ooh Yar I love the guys videos and therefore watch it!
 
As Captain Ros said, games that have a lot going on should be shown off in the thumbnail. I'd change up the background but keep the same STYLE for the same series :)

Take Nadeshot's Road to 100 wins series. Each one is the same style but he mixes up the guns and colours to distinguish them a little bit :)
