They do, actually. Even if the information is readily available for people, many of them don't know how to utilize their resources to find it. I'm sure there are some out there with ulterior motives, and want nothing more to help themselves while appearing to help others. Regardless if the information is available to the public, not many know how to find it, and these people aid them in doing so. Most of the time without mentioning their own channels, or charging any sort of fee; keeping it free to any who seek it.
I made no 'serious' claim that you'd become popular, or famous by using this method of revamping your older videos. All I was doing was just sharing the knowledge I gained myself through trial and error. I was teaching you something from experience, though it was from my own personal experience to try and aid others. Despite if some think that I'm doing it for the sole purpose of myself, I'm not; nor did I make any attempt to do so.
In the end, you're free to either take the advice or move on, it's no biggie. We're all just trying to help each other out.
Yeah, it was more of an audioistic sort of script. Thanks for the compliment though!
I agree.. just about consultants in general. Lots of people 'understand' YouTube and Digital Media but there is always more to understand and more to know about it and a consultants job is to educate and maximize their social / digital media for profit and exposure.
I don't think that @LyfeWithDragons meant that they're a genius at this, it's just a 'hey remember to do this.. it can help you out' type deal. Which is good advice and a great reminder if you have 150+ videos and some have potential and have outdated or boring thumbnails.. it can help drive traffic. We all give advice here, whether you have 5 subs or 5 million subs.. we're all at different stages in the game and some people might be doing things differently so it's good to hear what everyone has to say.
With my channel, I'm experimenting with it.. making small tweaks to see what pops out the best. Lately I've been really focusing on search terms for my 'taste test' videos and tweaking keywords, descriptions, thumbnails, etc to make them more user friendly. It's all about playing with it to see what works best and having all of those little things in there can make your video show up through SEO on and off of YouTube.
