Kids Channel - Comments on/off?

MASE

I've Got It
We are thinking of turning comments off on our kids channel. Most channels on the kids app have them off..as kids don't comment on videos. We want our content featured on the app eventually..and not sure if comments are going to help us? We are getting many comments but want to turn them off it it doesn't matter.

I would say leave them on. When people comment on your videos it shows engagement and that is allways good on YouTube.. I dont know why most kids channel have them off (if that´s the case) but I know some parents watch the videos too:)

@Dave2017 Thanks for your reply! I agree with the engagement but we know they are parents in the comments. Most of the kids channels that have them off are the ones already featured on the YT kids app. Kids don't comment on videos while using the app. This is what we want..kids watching. I think once we know our channel is on the app we can turn them off.

Was about to say the same thing - keep them on until you get big and/or start attracting trolls. Until then, you're fine with comments on. :-)

Hi, we have the on my sons and daughters channels. They are 11 and 6, with my daughters channel and having a young following its mostly the parents commenting on the childs behalf. Thats what I do, she tell me what to write and I type or let her but with me there. Any non appropriate comments will get deleted and or reported. No issues so far, so I say keep them on but moderate it

Thanks for sharing. All of the comments so far have been kind. I think we will keep them on for now. I was thinking turning them off might help get us on the kids app but it seems like it doesn't matter.
