Hey Guys!, I'm BertieGames and i've been youtubing for about 2 months now :)

Lately i've been trying to broaden my viewer base, and to do this I've been looking into Keyword Optimisation or SEO.

The thing is, I've been following advice of off many different websites and channels, doing as they've said and using the tools they reccomend. Such as the YouTube Keyword Tool and the Google Keyword Tool. However, I'm having absolutely no luck whatsoever. I just dont see how I can use this for Gaming, Because let's face it, Gaming and keywords arent the easiest combinations. Infact since I've been trying this, It's asif my audience has decreased.

It's not like I'm desperate for viewers or anything, Dont get me wrong. I love making videos and that's why I'm doing it. But I want to be heard, put my voice across.

So if anybody has any tips on Gaming SEO or anything to increase view ratings, Please help me :)

Thanks guys! And I'm so sorry if I've posted this in the wrong section, I'm rather new to this site. So just tell me and I'll redo it :)

Thanks!

People are not that likely, to go search for a random gameplay video or something like that, UNLESS, it's GTA V videos atm, but the front page is being taken by the bigger YouTubers.
So, the "easiest" way to use SEO on gaming videos, is with tutorials because that is what people really search for.

Beside the tutorial videos you can do, then do all the tags possible. Get at least 15 tags on each videos. It can be everything from what game you're playing, what console or if it's on PC, something from the game you do, maybe a "MULTIKILL". Be creative and think of tags that describe your videos. With gaming, you mostly just need the tags for the tutorials videos because that is where people is searching for the acutal topic you made a video on.

So, hope it didn't get to confusing. I am a bit tired today.

You're so right! Hmm, This gives me ideas... (Said in a notorious villain tone, Whilst rubbing hands) Thanks Marcus! :D You're so right tho, I guess It's just absolutely pointless for gamers unless it's tutorials. Nonetheless, why not eh?

It's not pointless, do your tags and it will help out, but it wont help as much as with other kinds of videos :)

A few pointers:

1)Get rid of the keyword tags in your descriptions. It will be treated as spam and will be doing more harm than good. Nothing wrong with keywords in the description, but not just listed like that. Put them into proper sentences, but don't repeat them too much.
2)You seem to be targeting hugely competitive terms like "Let's play gametitle" You are a small channel. You have like zero chance of ever getting on the first page for such big-hitting terms. Go after niche terms. They will be more specific, less-searched terms, but you will have less competition so more chance of getting to page 1. It's better to have a 90% chance of getting 2 clicks per video per day than 0% chance of 2000 clicks per day.

Good luck :)

Don't worry, this is in the right section :) If you're looking for tips on what to tag I can help out! Usually I just choose two columns in my head, one column is the game name and the other column is stuff like gameplay, review, playthrough, ect. Say if the game is GTA V the tags will be something like this: GTA V gameplay, GTA V commentary, GTA V playthrough, GTA V walkthrough, etc. I also do it a second time with a variation of the game name, in this case it would be GTA FIVE. I hope this helps

:O No way! I've been doing the description tags because I noticed others doing that! Thank you so much CrownAcademyEnglish! That surely saved me!
Could you please be more... Extensive? With niche terms? I'm not exactly sure on this :S

Thanks![DOUBLEPOST=1381067255,1381067197][/DOUBLEPOST]Thanks Oxter! I'll try that out, I suppose people would be more likely to search that. So that'd be very useful! Thanks for the advice :D

Heres just a random YTtalk tip, if your talking to someone specifically make sure to quote their post so they know your post is for them. Just click the quote button on the bottom right of their post! :geek2:
