Please try and read as much as you can, I know its huge but I can't explain things quickly, I like detail
Now something that I'm sure everyone has felt at some point is "I need to watch the next part of that video NOW!". Now for bigger YouTubers the subscriber base can wait for more content or they get content every day anyway so they can always watch that instead.
For smaller YouTubers though this cannot really happen, people may subscribe for a series or something and when we upload less regularly than the big guys, they might feel its not worth sticking around as they can watch it faster elsewhere. This is something that's bothering more and more every day. Take my upload schedule for example, I upload twice a week and I'm running like three series at one time, lets call these 1, 2, 3.
In days then I would upload: 1 - - 2 - - 3 - - 1 - - 2 - - 3 now if you understood that, the people who subscribed for 1 have to wait a whole week to watch the next part, and I don't think they will stick around that long unless they really want to. So, the main question is really how much should you upload to keep people interested. I know there are threads like this awhile back but I don't think the general 2 times a week; that's suggested, works very well. So.. if you were me and had videos up in that format I just showed how would you upload them. I don't have the viewerbase to upload daily, each video would have like 5 views but whats the next best thing?
Finally, if your still reading
I have an unbelievable amount of footage to upload and thats another issue. I recorded some of my series TWO MONTHS AGO and I'm still uploading the first play session. Specially the online sessions as that was four hours straight and I'm only half way through uploading and its been nearly FOUR MONTHS and I fear the gap will be too big to continue.
TLDR; Is waiting a whole week for the second part of a series too much, should uploads twice a week be increased?
Edit* I know that good content keeps people coming back, but I'm sure timing also plays a key part
