Keemstar says small YouTubers should quit?

I've started this new channel and it's growing nicely, there's definitely room for new YouTubers starting out on YouTube if they put effort into growing their channel.

I may be reading too much into it, but I think I understand the lesson of Keemstar's statement.

Let's put it this way: If it gets under your skin when people tell you to give up, rather than inspiring you to try harder and prove them wrong, then I'm not sure if YouTube is something you're passionate about or able to handle. Who cares what people say whether they are big or small? Things like this test your dedication. If you want to be a YouTuber as a hobbyist or professional you are going to come across people with this opinion. How you react is a reflection of you and not necessarily the content of what you're reacting to. If words reduce your confidence in yourself, or your dreams, then you have to work on your confidence. You won't get far in life if words is all it takes to take you down. There's plenty out there and many that are released just to diminish the confidence of competitors. You aren't ready to be a YouTube or online content creator if this alone, or the actual barriers that are in your way, makes you want to give up.

I'm not saying this view I have is what he meant. I don't even know who he is, so I have no indicator of his intentions, but this is what I take away from observing his comments. I see it as a lesson in disguise. If smaller channels take his comments more seriously than they take themselves, then that's a serious problem that will not only stop them from being a YouTuber, but being anything they aspire to be.

and yet thats exactly what i did in a tiny niche and now its my full-time job so yeah, wrong
You just proved my point. If you work in a tiny niche, you're more likely to get bigger and better results than throwing yourself out there to a large niche. The saturation and competition is low. But if you try to do generic Minecraft let's plays that everyone else is going with no originality, you're not likely to go anywhere.

firstly in the paragraph i quoted you never talked about what any niches' whether big or small, and even if you did me making it in a small niche doesn't prove anything, it doesn't prove you can't make it in a big niche, every day people are succeeding in every niche on youtube, yes of course its hard, any good job usually is, doesn't mean everyone should give up trying to be an astronaut or a football player because its hard

Watch some Casey's morivational videos where he said that all his life people told him that he can't (don't remember the title). You can't if you don't try.

really depends on your niche !! I honestly think that gaming channels are going to be the hardest one to grow with since everyone and their mom has a gaming channel!!

I hear so much about the gaming channels. Which lately is not the case, everyone has a vlog channel. But no one should quit because others are making videos.
We should all remember we started YouTube because we LOVE doing that, or should be the case.
I guess nowadays just everyone makes youtube for money and fame or idk, but not because they enjoy their hobby.

Please, no one quit! unless your actually fed up! the whole world involves competition, music has competition, games have competition, shops have competition, you don't see any of these going '' oh theres too much competition so there is no point in us being here'' they work around things, they compromise, do things different in order to carry and offer something different. When the Bigger youtubers decide to move on from youtube and they are done with making videos, everyone else will slowly move up, or will carry on growing, theres a spot for everyone on youtube, hence why its free, to show what people offer :D have faith people :)

Keemstar is doing what Keemstar is doing best. Stirring up hate and being controversal to get attention and views. It is a business model that has worked for him in the past and one that has made him famous (or, rather, infamous). Why would he stop now?

I'm sceptical of people that tell smaller creators to quit. Why does it bother them so much? It's not good advice, it's not constructive criticism, it achieves nothing. And so what of someone steals your idea. Can people steal what I or any of you do? Nope! People might be able to edit in a similar way to me, but there's only one me. People subscribe to the creator just as much as the content they create. I make cooking videos, but I also like to add a splash of humour as well because that's me, it's who I am. No one can copy that, and I'll be damned if someone tells me I cant be me and I should quit. It's ridiculous. You keep going, you keep pushing through the negativity and you make the best content you can and you'll find an audience.
